Shantih's Resume

 

Since 1982, Shantih Haast has been busy on the Los Angeles recording scene.  Her early career centered around artists such as The Bangles, Roy Bitton, Dan Slider, Dann Glenn, Andy John, Henry Louey, Marilyn McCoo and Chris Mancini at Skyline Recording Studio in Topanga Canyon, California.

In 1987 Shantih graduated from the composition and arranging program at Dick Grove’s School of Music. There, she wrote in many styles from big band, country western and pop, to film scoring with full orchestra. Shantih continued her education at Cal State University Northridge in music composition where she focused on orchestral compositions of contrapuntal non-tonal music. Working with the Fairlight music system, she had extensive training in electronic music and midi based systems. After graduating in 1997, she joined David Benoit’s recording team at his 29th Street Studio in Torrance, Ca. At 29th Street she worked with David Benoit, Steve Allen, Clint Black, Al Jareau, Lainie Kazan, Dave Koz, Pat Kelly, John Ferraro, Dean Taba, Andy Suzuki, Luis Conte and Hiroshima, to name a few.

In 2001 Shantih opened Studio 770 in Brea, Ca., where she is owner/operator and chief engineer. Working with David Benoit, Howard Cowles, Debbi Ebert, The Ron Kobayashi Trio, Llew Matthews, Jonathan Moffett, Ralph Penland, Peggie Perkins, Jack Sheldon, Cami Silva and Jack Wood has kept her busy recording, producing and arranging in a variety of styles from jazz, to classical, to rock and roll.
